Stepped Megaphone Exhaust Design

Rather than using a conventional straight-diameter exhaust path, Fabspeed incorporates a unique stepped megaphone configuration.

The system begins with 3-inch / 76mm tubing, expands into a huge 5-inch / 127mm section, and then transitions down to 3.5 inches / 90mm at the exhaust outlet. Fabspeed states that this megaphone architecture helps extract exhaust gases and reduce backpressure.

Aggressive Twin-Turbo LT7 Sound

The factory ZR1 exhaust is comparatively restrained for a 1,000+ horsepower platform. Fabspeed designed this system to bring considerably more of the LT7’s character to the surface.

The Megaphone Exhaust produces a stronger, more authoritative rumble at idle and transitions into a much higher-pitched, race-inspired wail as engine speed increases.

Fabspeed reports a sound level of approximately 122.8 dB, increasing to 127.7 dB when paired with its Sport Cats.

Lightweight Stainless Steel Construction

The system is constructed from mandrel-bent T304 stainless steel and incorporates T321 stainless steel flexible bellows. This combination provides a durable, high-temperature exhaust assembly while eliminating a significant amount of weight from the factory rear exhaust system.

Advanced Thermal Management

To control the substantial exhaust temperatures produced by the twin-turbo LT7, Fabspeed insulates the system with ceramic fiber rated to 2000°F / 1094°C, surrounded by 625 stainless-steel shielding.

Factory or Optional Exhaust Tips

The system can retain the ZR1’s factory quad “floating” exhaust tips, preserving the OEM rear appearance.
