This configuration is an excellent option for Stingrays that already have a compatible OEM rear spoiler.
Depending on your factory spoiler configuration, the mounting base can utilize the existing OEM spoiler holes, meaning no additional drilling is required. Remove the original spoiler and install the new bumper-mounted base using the existing mounting locations.
The base also covers the factory Z51 spoiler holes, providing a clean finished appearance.
Most importantly, when the existing OEM mounting locations can be reused, no permanent modifications are made to the vehicle. The Type-Z07 spoiler can later be removed and the original OEM spoiler reinstalled without leaving behind additional drilled holes or chassis modifications.
This makes the bumper-mount version ideal for owners who want an aggressive Z07-style appearance while keeping the vehicle fully reversible back to its original configuration.
What If Your Corvette Has No Factory Spoiler?
If your Stingray did not come equipped with a rear spoiler, there will not be existing OEM spoiler mounting holes available for the base.
In this situation, drilling into the rear bumper will be required to create the mounting points necessary to secure the bumper-mount base.
Professional installation is recommended when new mounting holes need to be created to ensure proper positioning, alignment, and security.
Factory Spoiler Hole Coverage

Periodically inspect all wing and mounting hardware. If the wing develops additional movement, vibration, or feels less secure than when originally installed, inspect and retorque the mounting hardware before further high-speed use.
